Much like everyone else on the planet, I've decided to begin a new journey this month.
For most people, the beginning of a new year sparks an interest in losing weight in hopes to fit into a small clothes size by the time the next one comes around.
The WFF love your body project is going to be much more than that.
As most of you know, I gave birth to my son in May last year; and although I have already lost more weight than I had gained throughout my pregnancy, my relationship with my body is an abysmal one. To say that I can't stand the sight of myself naked would be an understatement.
This year I want to change that, and by the time we ring in 2016 I want to be able to say that I truly love my body.
I will be posting one update a month for this project, so hopefully I won't get too over obsessed with it. (I tend to do that, a lot.) I'll be posting about my weight loss, if any, along with recipes I have found and loved, activities that have got me moving, clothes I have loved wearing and any other progress along the way. Confidence is the big end goal. Right now I'd easily say I have very little.
Today, I am going to take my 'before' photos, as I'm well aware that it's very hard to see progress when you see your own body everyday. You just don't see it changing as quickly as others can. I'm also going to take measurements and set my goals. The key to this project is to keep things realistic. Let's be fair, I'm currently a size 16 and to say that I would like to be an 8 by the end of the year would probably be setting myself up for an epic fail.
If you are reading this and would like to join me along the way, I would absolutely love it. I'm posting daily with the hashtag #theWFFloveyourbodyproject on Instagram, (follow me @whenflowersfall) and would love to see others using the hashtag too and getting involved. For anyone who does join in, I hope that we can all spur each other on, share comments, goals and ideas, and reach the end of this new year in a much happier place.
