The Body Project #01

A little while back, Liam and I posted an introduction video to our rebooted Body Project. Since then, there hasn't been any updates and to be honest, we hadn't quite planned out what we wanted to do in way of a plan action. My gallbladder operation also fell in the following weeks, so I've had to take some time to recover.
The only problem with recovering has been the eating. I've totally over indulged with foods I couldn't eat before my op, which in turn has meant a half a stone weight gain. Whilst I was healing, Liam didn't really keep on track either.
Well, I'm all healed now and we have sworn to get back on the health train.

Exercise
We have been going to the gym twice a week for the past two weeks, and have started to feel the benefits. We are both working on burning fat, and gaining muscle. We both have a goal as to what we want to achieve, and I think we've made a good start on that journey.
Our typical workout will include a good amount of cardio to increase our heart rates and burn fat. We will then workout on the body area of choice. I absolutely love doing leg weights, and I've discovered that my arms are the weakest part of my body.

Diet
Diet is something that we are both really struggling to change. We have spent far too long eaten the bad stuff, and it makes is so much harder to change your ways. Our current plan is to just reintroduce fruits and veggies into our meals, eat smaller portions and focus on the end goal.
In the new year, I am planning on going Vegan. I've given up meat before and then fell at the hurdle of Christmas, which is why I'm not doing this until the new year. But, I think it'a something I can do, and I've wanted to do it for so long. I can see it becoming something that I'm really passionate about. I'll try not to become too preachy about it.

I don't think we'll be posting an update until after the new year. Obviously, in the video we said we would update every Friday, but that hasn't happened yet, and I think we need to get our heads into it a bit more before we start sharing our journey through video.
I'll post a couple of update posts over the next few weeks, but hopefully we can get our heads deep into the game of being healthy.

  1. Good luck!! It gets so much easier once you get into the routine of it all! I find diet the easiest part, it's the motivation to exercise. But when you start losing weight it motivates you to lose more!
