For years I have been using the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Taupe. It was easy to apply and stayed all day. The only problem was it's lack of cruelty free status.
My new years resolution lead me to the Freedom Eyebrow Pomade. Likened to the ABH dip brow, it was said to come without the price tag, but all the benefits. But how it fair up against my fave?
Colour wise, these products are pretty different, with the Freedom pomade being much warmer. Before cracking into it, I thought it was going to be too warm for me. But thankfully, after getting through that top layer, it does become a little cooler. Not much, but a enough for my blonde hair.
I feel like the top layer was the best consistency wise. It was smooth, and super creamy. This made the first application or two incredibly easy. Once through to what was underneath, the pomade became slightly thicker, and a little drier. Application is still ok, but I find it a lot harder to work with. This is something I never had to tackle with the Maybelline colour tattoo, as it was pretty consistent throughout.
As for staying power, I can't complain at all. This gives me just as much longevity as the colour tattoo, and again is one of the last things to be removed from my face at the end of the day.
For the £5 price tag, I don't think I could really moan too much about this product. I've been using it most days and it does the job, I just wish that it wouldn't dry up as quick as it has seemed to.
I don't think the Freedom Pomade has quite made it onto my holy grail list, and I'm honestly tempted to splurge and try the ABH dipbrow, for comparisons really. But, I'm curious to see if the higher price tag will bring me closer to finding my go to eyebrow product once more.
If there is another cruelty free product, you think may rival the Maybelline Colour Tattoo, please let me know in the comments below. I would love to try it out.
